For Couples

Move toward greater communication, intimacy, and understanding as a couple.

For Couples

Couples counseling at Rose Hanna begins by exploring where you both stand on three foundational pieces of your relationship: commitment, good will and intent, and a willingness to understand one another. From there, we work together to increase communication skills and move you toward greater intimacy and connection.

What We Help With

Commitment — are you both fully in, or is one foot out the door?
Good will and intent — trusting your partner has your best interest at heart
Seeking to understand your partner, not only to be understood
Differentiating intent from effect to break hurtful communication cycles

Our Approach

We start by exploring where you stand on the three foundations of a relationship — commitment, good will and intent, and a willingness to seek understanding. From that shared baseline, we help you build practical communication skills that move the relationship toward greater intimacy and connection.

A key part of the work is learning to differentiate intent from effect. Many partners assume that if a message felt hurtful, it must have been meant to hurt. We help you shift from "they wanted to hurt me" to "I am feeling hurt — what did my partner actually intend, and why am I responding this way?" so conflict becomes a doorway to understanding instead of a wedge.
