
Ruya Urso
M.A., LMFT
Ruya is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist offering supportive, strength-based therapy to her clients. She has a B.A. in Psychology from George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia and an M.A. in Counseling with Emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Webster University in Irvine, California.
Throughout her career, Ruya has worked with clients with a variety of issues and from all socio-economic, cultural, and religious backgrounds. Her experience at College Hospital, a mental health facility, trained her to understand how different mental health issues can be compounded by trauma and substance abuse, and prepared her to work with clients presenting a wide variety of mental health challenges.
She has extensive experience with children, adolescents, and adults who have experienced different traumas. Her areas of experience include anxiety, depression, trauma resolution, addiction recovery, self-esteem issues, women's issues, adolescents' issues, and family problems. She is trained in many different treatment modalities and techniques, including EMDR.
Ruya believes that her clients have an innate potential for growth and, with guidance and support, can persevere through difficult times. She believes in empathy, compassion, and collaboration as the foundation for real change, and makes it her mission to help clients develop the coping skills they need to live a more fulfilling and productive life.
