Virginia Purnell LCSW

Virginia is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been practicing in California since 2015. Virginia takes a collaborative approach to therapy, working alongside clients to understand their experiences and develop practical tools for navigating life’s challenges. She believes that therapy can help clients build skills to move toward meaningful, lasting change, while creating a life that feels aligned with their values.

Virginia treats the following mental health conditions: depression, anxiety, OCD, trichotillomania, skin-picking, hoarding, phobias, and social anxiety. Furthermore, she supports clients who are struggling with grief and or have experienced a loss, be it death of a friend, family member, pet, and or loss of a life role.

 Virginia is certified in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Grief counseling, she is extensively trained in Exposure therapies, and Habit Reversal Therapy. She also utilizes Somatic modalities to help people self-regulate and cope with intense feelings. 

In her free time, Virginia enjoys spending time outdoors, reading, enjoying the arts and spending time with her family.
